Manage newsletter subscriptions

The Emarsys Add-on allows you to handle newsletter subscription updates as the Add-on

• creates your SCAYLE customers in Emarsys, if they click the subscription checkbox displayed in the Checkout frontend
• handles the the newsletter subscription check of the Checkout
• creates guest customers (non-registered) in Emarsys that signed up in your Storefronts newsletter form

Configure Newsletter

Activate newsletter

In the newsletter page you configure newsletters per shop country and decide whether you want to manage your contacts in dynamic segments or contact lists in Emarsys.

1. Go to Add-Ons > Emarsys Add-On > Newsletter.
2. Enter the shop countries you want to activate the newsletter for
3. Leave the contact list empty to not assign customers to a contact list and use dynamic segmentation
4. Select Double Opt-in checkbox.
5. Click SAVE.

Newsletter field mappings

For the newsletter most of the field mappings are predefined (SCAYLE system fields are mapped to corresponding Emarsys system fields). However, you can optionally define a Newsletter ID used for contact creation in Emarsys for all customers subscribing via the Checkout frontend newsletter checkbox.

1. Go to Add-Ons > Emarsys Add-On > Newsletter.
2. In the Newsletter section, click More.
3. Select the Field Mappings from the dropdown options
4. Under the SCAYLE Field enter the Newsletter ID.
5. Click SAVE.

Newsletter subscription check

The Checkout frontend offers the option to display a newsletter subscription checkbox for customers who have not yet signed up. The Emarsys Add-on features a ready-to-use subscription check integration to determine if a customer is already subscribed. If a customer already has a newsletter subscription, the checkout will seamlessly omit the checkbox.

1. Go to Add-Ons > Emarsys Add-On > Newsletter.
2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
3. Switch on the subscription check feature.
4. Click Save.

Configure guest newsletters

Guest newsletters refer to newsletter sign-up from your Storefront. E.g. when you have a newsletter sign-up CTA in the footer of your web shop.

The guest newsletter fields can be defined freely towards your needs.

Integrate guest newsletter endpoint

The Add-on exposes an endpoint for the Storefront to send newsletter sign-up requests to. The Add-on forwards these requests and creates the contacts in Emarsys.

The endpoint URL is displayed below the guest newsletter description. In the Settings Page you can create an API token to securely connect from your Storefront application.
