Block and Allowlist
If you want to prevent or enable the use of certain terms in SCAYLE within product attributes and product names, you can add them to the block- and allowlist. This way, you can avoid potential trademark infringements and warning letters.
Advanced Attribute Groups have to be defined as relevant for the blocklist.
Words similar to a term on the blocklist must be explicitly enabled for use on the allowlist.
Managing Block- and Allowlist
The terms on the block- and allowlist can be managed under Add-ons > Trademark Law > Blocklist
and Add-ons > Trademark Law > Allowlist
:
The block- and allowlist overview pages display all currently specified terms. In the table, you can edit individual words by clicking on them or delete them using the trash bin icon.
You can add new words with the button New Term. A window will open where you can enter multiple terms at once.
Words can also be added to the allowlist on the product details page.
Add Term to Blocklist or Allow list
To add a term, select Blocklist or Allow list from the menu on the left. Click New Term.
Enter terms in the Terms field, separated by a comma. Terms can contain multiple words.
Edit or Delete a Term
You can edit a term by clicking on it, updating the field, and saving. To remove a term, you can click the delete (trash can) icon in the Actions column.
Review on Product Details Page
If an entered term is banned due to the blocklist, this will be indicated on the product details page by a warning below an input field.
If the entry is similar to a term on the blocklist, this will also be indicated on the product details page by a note below the input field. To review it and unblock the term directly click Add to Allowlist.
These block- and allow list warnings and notes have to be resolved. Otherwise, the product will automatically receive the status Problem upon saving.
Automatic Product Creation
The block- and allow list is also checked as part of the automatic product creation process. If a term is considered risky, the system directly sets the status Problem for the respective products.
