Cut-Off Times
General
Logistics cut off is a feature for logistics managers to document the cut-off times when parcels for a country are picked up by the carrier.
Cut-off times are used in the mail template to define the expected delivery date in combination with the delivery estimations.
Logistics cut off times are not visible to the end customer. Everything related to delivery time that should be visible to the end customer in the checkout is managed via Delivery Estimations.
The cut off time defines the time when parcels for a country are picked up by the carrier at a warehouse. All parcels packed after this cut off time will be picked up on the following day. Since loading takes some time, the cut off time is generally set before the actual departure time of the truck (e.g., 30 minutes before).
Consider summer and winter time since the cut off times need to be adjusted in UTC 0.
When to update cut-off times
An update is generally necessary if:
- there is a change between summer and winter time.
- there are new pick up times for a carrier.
- the carrier changes the number of pickups per day (which is taken as the official cut off).
