One essential aspect of this is translating navigation items to cater to diverse linguistic preferences and enhance accessibility. In this guide, we'll delve into the process of translating navigation items, empowering online shop retailers to expand their reach and cater to a global audience effectively.
By following these steps, you'll be able to create a multilingual navigation interface tailored to your customers' language preferences, thereby enhancing user experience and facilitating smoother navigation across your online store.
It is not possible to make Navigation adjustments via ADMIN API.
Translate Navigation Items
Before you start
Make sure you created a global navigation for your Shop via Core Panel .
To translate the navigation on the shop level:
- Switch to the shop-level in the top left menu under the shop name.
- Select the translations icon for a menu item on the right side.
- Add the translation.
This overrides global configuration.
Storefront API
Once translations have been added, querying the Storefront API will automatically retrieve the translated names for the specified shop. This streamlined process eliminates the need for additional steps to access translated names. In cases where translations are not available, the name from the global level will be provided as a fallback option.
