Autoscaling

In our Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environment, Storefront Hosting, Autoscaling is a cloud computing feature that automatically adjusts the amount of computational resources, specifically CPU and memory, allocated to your application based on real-time demand. Rather than maintaining a fixed number of servers, our system dynamically monitors the application’s performance and adds or removes instances as needed. This ensures that your Storefront Application maintains consistent uptime and speed during traffic fluctuations without requiring manual infrastructure intervention from us.

It is important to mention that Storefront Hosting comes with CPU-based autoscaling to automatically handle your traffic requirements. We follow the reactive approach, meaning the infrastructure responds to traffic increases as they occur. The system detects the load and scales up the number of active instances to prevent slowdowns or site crashes during unexpected spikes.

Manual Upscaling Required?

While the system is designed to respond to live traffic, manual upscaling might be required for planned events where you anticipate a significant, sudden jump in traffic in a really short timeframe, such as a scheduled big campaign start or for Black Friday. In that case, please reach out to your SCAYLE Account Manager for our support.
